how to keep your jewellery looking its best

• when not wearing your jewellery, the best place to store it is in an airtight container – all sterling silver tarnishes when left out for a prolonged period of time (even better if you keep the box your jewellery came in – each box comes with an anti-tarnish sticker stuck to the lid !!)

• chemicals such as cleaning products and chlorine can cause your jewellery to tarnish so it’s best to avoid any contact with these, making sure to remember to take any jewellery off before going swimming or in a hot tub

• avoiding contact with perfumes, hair products, and lotions/creams will also help keep your jewellery shiny for longer

• it’s best to take off your stone set jewellery before washing your hands or showering as some stones may dull when in contact with soaps and water, as well as the potential of water getting underneath the stone and then being trapped there

• an oxidised patina is unfortunately not a permanent effect and it will eventually wear off, the best way to preserve and prolong the patina is by avoiding contact with chlorine, chemicals, soaps, and water – it’s best to remove the ring when washing hands or showering
